Job summary

As an Assistant Scientist you will be closely involved in the day to day running of studies and will be required to provide assistance with study set-up, sample collection and analysis, data and report compilation and inter-area collaboration.  A basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (including Word and Excel) is key to the role.  Some routine department duties including equipment maintenance will also be performed.

Job Description

The Department of Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics provides support to the pharmaceutical, veterinary pharmaceutical and chemical/agrochemical industries by evaluating the metabolism and disposition of new chemical and biological entities in vivo in a variety of test species. A significant increase in workflow across the department has created a number of Assistant Scientist positions to assist the Study Director teams managing this workflow. Studies within the department are conducted in both small and large animal species with radiolabelled and non-radiolabelled test items.

You will have at least a degree in a life science subject, ideally with a drug metabolism component included.  Some laboratory experience in the conduct of in vivo metabolism studies would be advantageous however, full training will be provided.  A keen eye for detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines will be essential for these positions.
