Job summary

You will primarily be responsible for certain technical aspects of preparation for consenting of an offshore wind farm with associated elements. You will have an open role stretching across onshore and offshore elements, including general assistance in co-ordinating project activities.

Job Description

Key Responsabilities:

  • Management of particular elements of offshore work, including providing consenting advice to project team, in liaison with other members of staff.
  • Co-ordinating external consultants and managing cost control and programme timescales.
  • Maintaining project documentation in line with company systems and policies.
  • Preparation and co-ordination of consenting and Environmental Statement applications and associated documentation.
  • Working with the other Consent Co-ordinators to assure total coverage of potential impacts and activities.
  • Assisting with all aspects of Consenting projects, including assisting with Open Days, Stakeholder communication management.
  • Liaison with statutory consultees and interested parties.
  • Liaison with other departments within the company to manage environmental and consenting data.
  • Assisting the team with environmental management advice and preparation of construction controls

Dimensions of role:

  • Working as an integral member of focussed project team.
  • Office based, with requirements for site visits, off site meetings and overnight stays, when required.
  • External contacts – Key external stakeholders / statutory bodies / local government.
  • Internal contacts – various parties across the company's business groups.

Skills / Experience

  • Preferably experience of working in a projects environment.
  • Essentially Degree level qualification in an environmentally related subject.
  • Strong and clear communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage approved ideas/ innovations into approved procedures.
  • Ability to challenge existing Company standards, policy and procedures and where appropriate suggest and develop improvements.
  • High degree of competency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Capacity to deliver high quality work in a demanding environment.
