ICE Renewables
ICE Renewables supplies expertise and equipment for the UK renewable energies market. TalentScotland spoke to Sheridan Jenkins, Regional Sales Manager for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
How did the company get started?
ICE Renewables Ltd has established a reputation for offering practical evaluation, technical support and creative solutions to the commercial, agricultural and public sectors. After a number of years in the industry, we can provide sound experience, knowledge and understanding of a client’s specific requirements in this dynamic market.
Our versatility allows us to work direct with landowners, SMEs and corporate clients providing turn-key solutions from initial consultancy, through feasibility, planning, design, procurement, installation and maintenance, or to support our partners – such as developers, land agents or planning consultants - with turbine specific technical services and equipment, allowing them to offer our renewable solutions to their customers.
What size is your organisation?
Our head office is in Northallerton, North Yorkshire and we have approximately 20 staff, including Managing Director Julian Martin, Financial Director Laurence Duncan along with our sales team and our in-house technical and operations team. I head up a regional team looking after Scotland and Northern England.
What does the future hold for ICE Renewables?
ICE Renewables act as sole UK distributor for French turbine manufacturer Vergnet, a global leader in the medium wind sector, well known for its high performance 275kW turbine which is versatile and cost-effective. This turbine is ideally suited to Scotland, where the positive approach to renewable energy and natural wind resource make it an attractive proposition.
Showing Vergnet’s commitment to its partnership with ICE Renewables in Scotland, Bruno Hignette, Vergnet’s UK Sales Manager has relocated from Paris to Edinburgh.
The Feed in Tarrif scheme has revitalised the renewable energy industry, in Scotland and the UK, over the last 12 months and, with the small and medium wind sectors looking particularly attractive, our ability to offer a range of wind turbines from 6kW to 900kW will ensure that we can provide a practical and financially attractive solution to most sites.
Longer term, ICE Renewables Ltd remain committed to the renewable energy industry and, have set ourselves the target of quadrupling the volume of our business in 2011.
