Employing EEA workers

The EEA is made up of the 27 member countries of the European Union (EU) and a few others.

Nationals from the following member states can work in Scotland without permission from the UK Border Agency:

Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

Switzerland is not in the EEA but Swiss nationals can also work without permission.
