Tier 1 visa for highly skilled workers
As an employer you do not need a Sponsorship Licence to employ someone with a working visa in Tier 1. They are free to do any job for you.
Tier 1 Post Study Work
This visa gives the person two years leave to work in the UK and is for individuals who have obtained an eligible qualification in the UK. Applicants can apply for this visa up until April 2012.
The individual applies for the visa and does not need to be in employment or have a job offer before applying. They need to score 75 points and show they can support themselves financially.
At any point during their two years’ leave the individual can consider transferring into Tier 2 General - if it is a graduate level job and the employer is willing to sponsor the person.

Tier 1 General
This visa is closed to new applicants from 6 April 2011. However, as an employer, you may have potential employees approaching you who are in possession of a valid Tier 1 General visa. If they have this they can work for you without the need for sponsorship under Tier 2.
