RAS Immigration Road Shows 2012
Date : 17 April 2012 - 1 May 2012
Location : Across Scotland
Following the success of the Immigration Road Shows last year we have decided to run some more in 2012.
We've listened to your feedback which indicated a desire for a day-long session with case studies. We have also included a date in Aberdeen.
The sessions are completely free and lunch is included.
HR staff and public service colleagues who have some basic knowledge of the current immigration system should find the sessions particularly helpful. They are aimed at employers so will focus on sponsorship and preventing illegal working. Due to time constraints we are unable to look at Tier 4.
All the events are from 9:30 until 16:00 and limited to 20 people.
The dates and venues are:
-
Aberdeen: Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce 17th April
-
Glasgow: 5 Atlantic Quay, 150 Broomielaw 20th and 27th April
-
Edinburgh: Victoria Quay, 19th and 24th April
-
Inverness: Cowan House, Inverness. 1st May
The planned timetable for all sessions is:
09:30: Registration and coffee
10:00: Introduction and ice breaker
10:30: Presentation - immigration update
11:00: Breakout – case studies* (A2s, Tier 2, employing students)
12:15: Lunch
13:15: Energiser (to help you face an afternoon of immigration!)
13:30: Presentation – prevention of illegal working
14:00: Breakout case studies (document checking to prevent illegal working)
