Programme to facilitate visas for engineers

I am an Indian national who obtained a BE electronics 2.1 degree from Glasgow caledonian university in the year 2001. After completing my degree, I came back to India for working. I am interested in finding out the job prospects for a person with skills such as myself in Scotland. If you could provide me some advice on the steps necessary in gaining suitable employment in scotland, I would be very grateful.

As you are already registered with talentscotland we will be able to keep you up-to-date with what's happening in the technology sector and send you details of any job opportunities that meet your profile. If you are interested in any of the jobs just log on to the web site and send your application through the link at the bottom of the job description directly to the company. If a company makes you an offer of employment they will then apply for a work permit on your behalf. You will have to check whether you require entry clearance or not and you can find out via the link to the foreign and commonwealth link on our Immigration information page.

The Highly Skilled Migrant Programme allows individuals who qualify to come to Scotland to look for work. Recent changes to the scheme have made it easier for young people under the age of 28 to apply. You will find further information on the scheme itself on our website at Immigration and by following the link for the programme.
