Stirling’s city centre shops
Murray Place and Port Street are the two main roads running through Stirling city centre. They offer everything from party decorations to pastries, jewellery and high fashion clothing.
On King Street you’ll find a range of ladies designer clothing, wedding outfitters, specialist electronic retailers and kitchenware outlets. Everything is within easy reach.
In Stirling you’re never far from history - on King Street a statue of William Wallace overlooks shoppers.
The Stirling Arcade
Stirling Arcade, in the heart of the city’s old town, is an important and historical feature.
The arcade was built between 1881 and 1882 and initially housed music halls, a number of residential flats, shops, workshops and, at one time, Stirling’s city hall. A period of refurbishment, following the Second World War, returned the arcade to its former glory and today it has a range of independent shops, jewellers, beauticians, craft shops and mouth watering sweetie shops.
Situated in the heart of the city’s picturesque Old Town and with some stunning original architectural features, the arcade is definitely worth a visit.
The Thistles Shopping Centre
The Thistles Shopping Centre has over 90 shops; a good mixture of brands, H & M, Clarks, Topshop and Zara, and independent retailers.
If you’re travelling by car, take junction 9 or 10 off the M9 motorway and follow signs for Stirling City Centre. By bus is even more straightforward. Shoppers arriving by bus don’t even have to go outside: Stirling’s main bus station has a direct link to the Thistles shopping centre, via an undercover pedestrian walkway. By train it’s just a two minute walk to the shops.
