Do European Economic Area (EEA) workers need a visa?
The EEA is made up of the 27 member countries of the European Union (EU) and a few others.
Nationals from the following member states can work in Scotland
Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom.
Although Switzerland is not in the EEA, Swiss nationals can work in Scotland.
This also applies to students who are working during official holidays or working for more than 10 hours per week during term time.
