The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Mobile Centre of Excellence at J.P. Morgan in Glasgow has grown to deliver multi-platform business and productivity applications targeting clients and employees.

Their recent projects include a secure mobile briefcase, a note taking app, a real-time trading app, biometric authentication and Google Glass integration. With over 30 applications shipped to date, the team makes sure they design and develop the best.

Led by executive director Gil McErlane, the group is fearless in the face of technology and continuously accepts the challenge to tackle the big issues that big businesses have. Today may be biometrics, tomorrow could be state-of-the-art data encryption. Next week perhaps it’s designing wearable technology; next month may be meeting with Apple.

The most recent addition to the Centre has been the creation of an in-house UX/IU design team which has allowed the team to offer a full end-to-end service. Talented developers have joined from a variety of backgrounds, which has helped push the boundaries of what mobile can offer a user.

It's safe to say that even in financial services, life is never dull.
