Outplay Entertainment, the upcoming global free-to-play mobile games developer and publisher, is marking 2015 as a transitional year of increased growth and output, with an impressive list of accomplishments highlighted by a successful partnership with Rovio, as the developer of Angry Birds Stella POP!, the iconic bubble shooter with more than 5 million downloads in its first four weeks of release.

Outplay has been on this dynamic trajectory for four years, with a highly responsive and iterative approach to creating a broad portfolio of fun, free, and innovative social games for smartphones, tablets, and social networks.

“In four short years Outplay has become a leader in the highly competitive mobile games market through hard work and with extremely talented teams leading the way,” said Douglas Hare, CEO, Outplay Entertainment. “We have already released two award-winning titles this year. With four new titles in the pipeline for 2015, we are poised for transformational success as we continue our commitment to listening to what players want, learning from everything we do, and adding just a bit of our own secret sauce.”

Building on its continued success as a premier mobile free-to-play developer and publisher, Outplay is developing two new games that build on its wealth of experience in casual puzzle gaming, plus another two targeted at the team’s growing mid-core RPG and strategy audience. The UK team is aiming for a combined 40 million downloads by year end.

Outplay was founded in 2010 by game industry veterans Douglas and Richard Hare with the studio in Dundee, Scotland, opening in 2011. Their combined vision has led to significant growth of the development team that is now more than 80 strong, filled with highly talented and experienced individuals hailing from 19 countries. While publishing core titles under the Outplay label, Pug Rapids and the award-winning Swinging Stupendo were recently launched under its sub-label Bite Size Games – which focuses on unique, short session, pick-up-and-play games.

Outplay has developed a number of successful titles including App Store Editors’ Choice featured & BAFTA-nominated Monster Legacy, App Store Editors’ Choice Angry Birds Stella POP!, multi-platinum downloaded Bubble Blaze, as well as Alien Creeps TD and Mystery Match – both of which were featured as Best New Games on the App Store. Swinging Stupendo, the second title released under the Bite Size Games label, was heavily featured as one of ‘Best New Games’ in the App Store and also received ‘Editors’ Choice’ in Google Play.
