Edinburgh Genomics

Edinburgh Genomics, part of the University of Edinburgh, is the leading academic based open-access genomics service provider in the UK and has one of the largest sequencing operations in Europe.

Edinburgh Genomics

With a wealth of genomics and bioinformatics expertise and a proven track record of producing large volume, high quality data, Edinburgh Genomics is the partner of choice for dependable sequencing and data analysis. By delivering advanced sequencing services to a global community of collaborators and customers across academia, government and industry, Edinburgh Genomics has generated data for more than 700 peer-reviewed publications. Our world-class sequencing capabilities are recognised by three major Biomedical Funding Councils where we are acknowledged as a National capability by BBSRC, are one of only three MRC high throughput sequencing hubs and one of four NERC Biomolecular analysis facility nodes in the UK.

Edinburgh Genomics (EG) comprises two Divisions, EG Science and EG Clinical, each with dedicated sequencing facilities. This capacity enables Edinburgh Genomics to offer a broad portfolio of applications from whole genome sequencing on the Illumina HiSeq X for human and other species, to whole exome sequencing, RNA-Seq, and ChIP-Seq on the NovaSeq 6000, as well as amplicon sequencing on the MiSeq platform. EGS also offers long-read sequencing capability on the PacBio Sequel.
