QCMD (Quality Control for Molecular Diagnostics)

QCMD evolved from the successful EU supported Quality Control Concerted Action (EU-QCCA) which provided QC programmes for the assessment of clinical laboratory tests.

QCMD designs, develops, and manufactures QC materials and proficiency programmes. These products are used globally by clinical testing laboratories, blood banks, and diagnostic test manufacturers. QCMD has an established multi-national executive and a number of well defined advisory committees consisting of leaders from both academia and industry in areas such as virology, public health, and clinical diagnostics.

QCMD maintains relationships with various World standard organisations and relevant scientific societies. It is endorsed by the European Society for Clinical Virology (ESCV) and the European Society for Microbiology and Infectious Disease (ESCMID).
