Employing Bulgarians, Romanians and Croatians

As of 1 January 2014, there are no longer any restriction on employing Romanian and Bulgarian workers and as of 1 July 2018, there are no longer any restriction on employing Croatian workers.

Employing Romanians, Bulgarians and Croatians is now the same as employing any other European employee. All an employer has to do to lawfully employ a Romanian, Bulgarian or Croatian employee is to take a copy of the employee's passport and retain it on file as proof of their nationality in the same way they would with other EU/EEA nationals.
