First approved Digital Identity Service Provider announced

Following the Home Office's introduction of using certified digital identity service providers (IDSPs) to carry out identity checks for right to work purposes on the 6th of April 2022, the first certified IDSP has been approved.

The first certified IDSP is Yoti and Post Office EasyID and details of the service offered by them can be found on the Yoti website. A full list of all certified IDSP's is being published by UKVI and the up to date list can be found on the UK Government website. The Home Office have stated that the list of certified IDSP's will continue to be updated as organisations are certified.

The end date for the COVID-19 temporary adjusted right to work checks has been deferred to 30 September 2022 (inclusive). Using IDSP's to conduct right to wok checks for qualifying recruits (those with a current British or Irish passport or Irish passport card) will allow employers to continue doing checks remotely after this date.

For further information on using IDSP's for right to work purposes, please see the Employers Guide to Right to Work Checks for full details.
