ReactivLab Ltd was initially a spinout company from the University of Glasgow specialising in diagnostic tests to assess animal health and wellbeing. It was acquired in March 2010 by Avacta Animal Health Ltd.

ReactivLab Ltd was formed in 2007 from the laboratory of Prof D Eckersall at University of Glasgow Vet school and was acquired by Avacta Animal Health Ltd in March 2010.

The R & D facility of the company is currently based within Garscube Estate in Glasgow and specialises in the development of diagnostic tests using acute phase proteins to determine the health of animals and their wellbeing.

Information from these tests can also be used to monitor disease progression and determine effectiveness of treatment. The tests are of use to veterinary surgeons, farmers, pet owners and scientists.

ReactivLab is developing new products in the veterinary diagnostic sector based on Acute Phase Proteins and is part of the Avacta Animal Health group, one of the operating businesses of Avacta Group plc.

Avacta Group plc is an AIM listed technology and services provider to the life science sector comprising two operating divisions; Avacta Animal Health providing technology, products and services to the veterinary diagnostic market and Avacta Analytical which provides technology and services to the biopharmaceutical/pharmaceutical markets.
