The University of Edinburgh’s School of Chemistry has a world class reputation for reseach excellence.
The School is one of the UK’s premier research centres for chemical sciences, as demonstrated in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE).
As a world-class centre for chemistry we have four research groupings:
- The Chemistry/Biology Interface
- Experimental and Theoretical Chemical Physics
- Molecular Synthetic Chemistry
- Materials Chemistry
The vibrant research activity is underpinned by world-class academic staff and postgraduate research fellows, a large graduate school and supported by state of the art equipment and facilities.
Our activities span fundamental and applied chemical research, and we are major partners in collaboration with industrial partners.
